COVID VACCINATION PROJECT

Covid virus created havoc against human with nothing to stop. we human had just one weapon to prevent us that is immunization.

Even though it sound simple enough in reality there are many challenges especially in rural areas where misinformation is rampant.

Challenges includes:

1) Refusal by people to take
2) Non-availability of vaccine
3) Lack of information as to where to take the vaccine
4) Non-availability of internet for registration to take vaccine

Satra taking into consideration of the various issue conducted survey in nearby district and found udalguri a district in assam to be most affected by the problem and had a low vaccination rate.

SATRA IMPLEMENTED 5 MONTH COVID VACCINATION PROGRAM IN UDALGURI BLOCK FROM 1ST NOVEMBER 2022 WITH SUPPORT FROM APPI 

PROJECT OBJECTIVE :
TO PROVIDE VACCINATION TO DEPRIVED POPULATION LIVING IN REMOTE AREAS OF UDALGURI HEALTH BLOCK IN UDALGURI DISTRICT OF ASSAM 
Challenges specific to Udalguri district includes:

1)Religious belief 
2)Connectivity issues
3)Misinformation against vaccine
4)Shortage of vaccination staff

Our Approach

We identified 81 villages in udalguri district which had the lowest vaccination percentage

Once identified we hired 20 community resource person from those villages who had good influence on the community.

​

Hired two vehicles to carry our team vaccine team to remote location

Conducted linelisting for unvaccianted individual in 81 village 

What we did

  • Orgainised meeting with the village influencial leader
  • Held vaccination camps in all the villages
  • Announcement about the next vaccine dates through miking
  • Coordination with the district health department in procuring vaccine in our camps
  • Composed regional language motivational speech and play it through loud speakers

  • Individual motivation of unvaccinated people through our CRP

  • Involving religious leader for better outreach

  • To fight misformation we use poster issued by WHO to create awareness among  the people

Outcome

Total number of dose given(1st and 2nd) : 58954

Held a total of 1256 camps

Conduted 36 village level awareness meeting 

Had an outreach of 54986 population

Did miking of 8478 km in 66 villages
